For each biennial a faculty member of the graphic design department is asked to create a poster to promote the show. Due to the diversity in discipline and point of view in the faculty of the school as a whole I didn't believe an illustrative image would be an appropriate representation.
By creating a system of digitally printed posters that are recombinable in numerous permutations the poster system performs the iterative approach the faculty hopes to instill in the student body. If we're constantly asking our students to make, re-make, configure, and re-configure it seemed only appropriate that the identity surrounding the show acknowledge this process. The posters were used both as a series of promotional objects as well as an installation within the show itself and the visual language was expanded to promote individual events within the faculty forum through installed video loops, e-mail, and web graphics.
