In the 21st century most "flyers" are produced by local copy shops on digital printers. These machines are great for small quantities and quick turnaround times (I can have one print in 30 seconds). However when attempting to print several hundred copies the economies of scale begin to fall out. For this project we opted to use a local offset printer and printed on a small two color press which gave us the opportunity to print spot colors that are quite common in a larger commercial context but are quite rare in the halls of an academic institution. The edges of the posters were designed to encourage those hanging the posters to tile them in a grid to take up more available wall space.
